1. Overview

MyWork, Belgium, is responsible for the processing of personal data within the MyWork platform. This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, why we process it and the rights available to you.

2. Information we process

• Account data, such as email address, username, name and profile photo.
• Profile data, such as location, skills, bio, rates and portfolio information.
• User content, such as posts, projects, reviews and comments.
• Communications, including messages and conversation history.
• Technical information about the device, app version and use of the service.
• Location data when you grant location access for features such as Nearby.
• Images and files that you choose to upload.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process data to provide and secure MyWork, connect users, display profiles and content, enable communication, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the service. Where applicable, processing is based on providing the service, consent, legal obligations or our legitimate interests in security and platform integrity.

4. Service providers and sharing

MyWork uses service providers such as Supabase for database and authentication, Expo for app and notification infrastructure, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim for location searches, and Apple or Google for app distribution. We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only where needed to provide the service, comply with law or protect the platform.

5. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including secure authentication, access controls and Row Level Security in the database. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention and account deletion

We retain personal data for as long as necessary for your account, the operation and security of MyWork and applicable legal obligations. You can delete your account through Settings in the app. Data is then removed from active systems where technically and legally possible. Secure backups may temporarily retain data until they are overwritten under the normal retention cycles of our service providers.

7. Your privacy rights

Under the GDPR, where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

8. Age

MyWork is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly direct the service to minors.
